artist statement

I am obsessed with atypical or undervalued, mundane matter, such as fibers, soap or plastics. I am interested in the unseen, the unwritten, that what can possibly be unraveled. My works often start by altering ordinary material or through reading that leads to new experiments. By physically intervening – cutting, melting and erasing – I try to activate this substance until it begins to reveal itself. Constantly searching for a friction between myself and the medium, I strive to ask new questions and constantly expand my research.
