Paulien Bekker (November 8, 1978) works and lives in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Following her study at the Royal Institute for Theathre, Cinema and Sound (RITSC), Brussels, Belgium, she earned her Master’s in Artistic Research/ Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in 2018.

She couldn’t be more obsessed with atypical or undervalued tangible ‘mundane’ materials, such as fibre and soap. Her works represent the faint remains of the former (hi)story of the matter stratigraphically.
